Dr Sonal completed her MBBS from Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from D. Y. Patil Medical College, Pune. She also has a Fellowship and a Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery from the World Laparoscopy Hospital, Gurgaon, and a Fellowship in Obstetric Medicine / High Risk Pregnancy from Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad.
